Gigabyte M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse

With PC gaming even getting more and more challenging, most avid gamers no longer are content with using an ordinary PC mouse for game play. Its function may no longer be sufficient for the quicker and more complex phase of most PC games today. And to answer the need for a better gaming mouse, Gigabyte has recently unveiled its new M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse for the PC gaming public.
The Gigabyte M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse is being touted as the first wireless gaming mouse in the world to guarantee users a 100-hour non-stop gaming experience. This gaming mouse comes with a long lasting Li ion battery that can last over 50 hrs of continuous use. It also comes with a Quick Swap Battery System that allows battery changing under merely 2 seconds.
The Gigabyte M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse also comes with a 32KB onboard memory that allows gamers to store up to 5 programmable profile settings into the mouse itself. This allows gamers to use the same mouse configuration even if they change into different PC’s. The gaming mouse comes with a charging dock that charges the Li ion batteries and doubles as the wireless receiver. The Gigabyte M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse is currently on display at CeBIT 2011 in Hamburg. No details yet on when it will be made available for the PC gaming public or for how much.

Sony Xperia Play Phone Revealed via Super Bowl Ad

If there is one grand way to unveil a product, it would have to be by putting up an advertisement on Super Bowl and Sony Ericsson did just that.
On Sunday’s big event, the company finally confirmed the long-rumored “PlayStation Phone,” which it renamed as Xperia Play. The ad ran a voice over saying that it is “the smartphone with everything you need and the one thing you want,” pertaining to its PlayStation Portable functionality.
The ad, however, fell short in revealing the phone’s release date and pricing, but that could be addressed in Sony Ericsson’s upcoming press conference this Sunday, February 13, in Barcelona just in time for the Mobile World Congress.

Activision Blizzard Pulls the Plug on Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero players are mourning as Activision Blizzard announced that it is bringing the curtain down on its iconic “Guitar Hero” music videogame franchise. This comes after the Southern California-based company suffered significant losses in the last quarter as well as “continued decline in the music (video game) genre.”
The company has also dismissed seven percent of its staff, including all members of Guitar Hero team.
Instead, Activision Blizzard sets its focus on upcoming titles for the popular “Call of Duty” battle franchise, as well as investing in online games and digital distribution.
